| "Five years have elapsed since the publication of the last edition of this book, and many things have changed in the field of cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders. Most important of all, and most disappointing, we are back to the confused situation of the past, when different classifications of lymphomas and leukemias were published by different groups. Two classification schemes are currently in use: the first is the International Consensus Classification (ICC) of Myeloid and Lymphoid Neoplasms prepared by the Society for Hematopathology and the European Association for Haematopathology together with hematologists, oncologists, and scientists through joint Clinical Advisory Committees; and the second is the 5th edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) Classification of Haematolymphoid Tumours. Although for the most part the two classifications overlap, they differ in some definition and even in listing, or not listing, some entities, thus causing confusion"-- Provided by publisher |
